About Roberto Ortiz

Roberto Ortiz is the Cofounder and CEO of virtual events platform Welcome where he leverages the power of design to improve how people interact with technology, brands, and each other.

Roberto began his design career as a teenager designing and developing websites for anyone who gave him the opportunity. He was then recruited to work at Lockheed Martin at the age of 16. After a decade in software design, he joined Google as a UX Designer and would go on to work as a Design Director for Yahoo, where he helped lead mobile design.

Outside of design and pixel dust, Roberto enjoys speaking into the lives of youth and jumps at the opportunity of using design and technology for good. He co-founded the non-profit ELEO, a leadership conference for aspiring and experienced entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley. Roberto is a Y Combinator alumni and received his Bachelor of Science in Business and Information Systems from Philadelphia University.
